Patok Magazine is a digital publication dedicated to preserving and promoting jeepney artistry, as well as recontextualizing its place within the contemporary art scene.

In Fame Pascua’s The Patók Jeepney: A Descriptive Study, there are several definitions of Patók.
It could be defined by its colorful and varied decorations, loud booming music, and fast movements. It also means “maporma” or “elaborately decorated” to drivers,
Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) also defines Patok (the word) as: “1. Marami ang nanonood (kung sa pelikula o palabas), 2. Kilalá o nauuso; marami ang tumatangkilik, 3. Marami ang tayâ (kung sa sugal).”
To show appreciation to the colorful and wacky designs reflective of the personalities of jeepney owners and showcase them to audiences, our magazine is named Patok: Sining ng Kalsada.

Patok Magazine consists of three undergraduate students currently taking up Communication Arts at De La Salle University. We have been witness to the proliferation of the colorful jeepney designs when we were younger, as well as their slow disappearance as we grew older.
With the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP) looming over jeepney operators with traditional jeepneys to modernized jeepneys, we want to preserve jeepney artistry in our culture and situate its context in the midst of modernity.
